Champagne and Caviar with Charles Ellner Cuvee de Grande Reserve Brut and White Sturgeon Caviar

Charles Ellner Cuvee de Grande Reserve Brut NV is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The dosage is 10 g/l.

Champagne and Caviar

There are aromas of fresh rich black plum, nuttiness, brioche and minerality. On the palate, this is all integrated with slight chalk notes. On the finish there is additionally a slight grapefruit bitterness making your mouth water.

With this pairing the slight chalk note appears with the caviar and the fruit is sweetened a bit. After the palate is cleansed the sweet fruit just lingers along to a mouth watering finish.

Champagne and Caviar

The champagne has a floral freshness of purity in the aromas with almonds, lemon, cherry blossoms and with a little sweet yeast. On the palate the minerality shows. The finish is slightly mouthwatering with all of the minerality and floralness. Power and elegance combined.

With this pairing we have the sweetness of the wine blending with the minerality of each. It finishes with the softene fruit lingering and then a cleansed palate. A great Lady Elena Caviar and champagne pairing.

Champagne Charles Ellner,Snow and Wine Geeks

How much snow did you get this week from the big storm?

We asked our friend Champagne Charles Ellner to help us measure the snow depth.

We got snow up to the bottom of the foil label.

Now with a chilled bottle of champagne , where did I put that jar of Lady Elena Caviar to get chilled in the snow?
