Philippe Gonet Extra Brut 3210 Blanc de Blancs Champagne

 The wines is aged Sur Lie for 3 years.

              The grapes are from 2 terroirs.

                      This is from the 1 variety of Chardonnay.

                              Dosage is 0.

With this champagne as much as it cleanses the palate the champagne presents its floralness along side the caviar. Their is a feeling of elegance in this pairing.

This was re tasted in January 2016 with the same results.

The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and the minerality in this wine says it all about why it was the Best of 2016 New York State wines paired with caviar. The freshness and the zestiness helped a lot as well.

This is a wine from Georgia - the Country.

The wine is from the Marani Kondoli vineyards and is a blend of 50% Mtsvane and 50% Kisi.
This is another wine where indigenous varietals show a surprisingly good wine and caviar pairing. This was paired with White Sturgeon caviar.

The Thrapsathiri grape variety from Crete caught our attention and we wanted to bring it to your attention.

Crete is a small island and we tasted many of their wines and found that this single varietal wine was the best with our White Sturgeon Caviar.

 Caviar and sweet wine is not enjoyed as much as it should be.  This sweet wine from Portugal is a value sweet wine which compliments the pairing. 

We love our sweet and salty desserts. We especially love our chocolate covered pretzels. Here is a quality sweet wine that is not overpowering or cloying and a great wine to enjoy with your caviar. There is that creamy nutty sweet salty deliciousness happening here.

2016 Best Champagne/Wine and Caviar Pairings Announcement from Lady Elena Caviar

Throughout 2016, Lady Elena Caviar has tasted a few hundred champagnes and wines with our caviar. We do not say the champagne or wine and our caviar pair unless we have tasted the two together.

Champagne is the thought many people have when there is the mention of caviar. Lady Elena Caviar is about caviar for your lifestyle. There is a caviar for your budget among our 9 varieties. With this in mind, we look for champagnes and wines from all price ranges that pair with our caviar. Please note that champagne is a wine.

Our tasting throughout the year has been by the individual bottle, by the producer line, by a selection of wines by a country or by a wine producing region. Since wine and champagne prices can have such a wide range from the seller, we are not including any retail prices for them.

Every caviar variety has its own flavor profile and every wine has its own flavor profile. Our selected winners are those wines where the pairing had special enjoyable characteristics to it that made it stand out from the rest.
