To celebrate Burgundy week I opened an old Burgundy-a 1985 Georges Lignier Clos Denis Grand Cru.
It has a beautiful aged Pinot Noir color to it. The aromas were filled with wet cardboard and a musty dirty wine cellar. The taste was just as exciting. It was really upsetting to have this bottle be CORKED.
For me it was a Gran Corked wine.
Would be interested in hearing about how this should have tasted.

New Zealand Pinot Noir Wine
Here time was a friend to wine. The Pinot Noir planted
vineyards are starting to gain some age to them along with the winemakers
learning along the way over recent years.
Here are some that I found to be exciting and delicious.
Each wine has its own elegance to it.
2015 Trinity
Hill Pinot
Noir Hawkes
Bay - This wine is
terroir specific. Drink this and think New Zealand Pinot Noir. Here we find
some soft ripe flavors with hidden tannins and a finish with balance. The retail
price of approximately $18 is a value.
2014 Craggy Range Aroha Pinot Noir Martinborough - Everything about this wine makes you thing Burgundy. Starting from the color, the perfume and its integration this is a special wine. It also comes with a cork and a special retail price of approximately $90.
